I love this post!!! If by "dry sink" you mean a little recessed bucket then mine has that too. I'm not sure how it's meant to be used but I sweep any potting soil and water that gathers on the table into the bucket so I can easily dump it elsewhere.

Thanks, Leandra! My dry sink is built in, so I can’t dump it. Maybe that’s part of what makes it confusing to me! Ha.

Sometimes I keep my gloves in a mason jar with a lid. That is before I lose them or forget they exist! Haha. The only thing my dry sink has been used for successfully is when I am potting up, I will arrange all my bigger pots in the sink and they don’t fall over there.

That's a good idea! I keep thinking somebody has to know what the thing was really intended for... but I just keep getting good ideas for how people have hacked them! Ha.

Very good piece! I completely agree on location - direct access from a door - and the advantages of shade. My potting table is an old plastic table we bought years ago when we did not have a dining table. It works fine. One addition I have found very useful is an old tray which I place on top of the table. That's where I do all my repotting and sowing - helps keep the potting mix from going all over the table (at least that is the theory). And it makes cleaning up a bit easier.

That's a good tip, especially for repurposing an old table!

I love 'spigot'!

Thank you for posting this! I'm trying to get back into gardening this spring/summer. This potting sounds like a great idea - I don't have a place that's partly shaded to put it, but I do have an area on the backside of my house near the water spigot that might be a good spot.

That sounds like a good option!
